I am thankful for our heroes in each REDI MART store. You are first responders, just like healthcare, police, and fire fighters. You are there for your communities so that essential items such as motor fuel, grocery items, beverages, tobacco, and even lottery tickets can keep the needs families taken care of and feeling somewhat normal during these trying times.
The special rules to live by that we have today will be eased. Life for each of us and our customers will begin to return to normal. Stand firm in your resolve to be the bright spot in each customers day.
The President of these United States of America has announced the framework of a plan to reopen the U.S. economy. His plan is guidance for each state to follow as each governor will make the decisions at the state level. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has entered into a partnership with six surrounding states to coordinate plans for an easing of restrictions in a thoughtful and controlled manner, when the time comes. I believe we will see an easing in some travel and work restrictions by May 1st. And end to the disaster declarations is in sight. With that said, please continue to practice all of the safety steps for yourself, your family, and your workplace.
In the meantime, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has revised their guidance to suggest that employees, who have no COVID-19 symptoms, who have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 may stay in the workplace with the proper protective measures in place. REDI MART will have more to say about this soon.
You are a hero! And I am thankful for you during this time.
